Worlds End State Park is located in Forksville, PA. It is a beautiful place! There are so many hiking trail options and I’m sure they all would have been wonderful. The name of the trail I hiked was Canyon Vista. It is a 3.9 mile loop with elevation gain of about 800 feet. I used the AllTrails app on my phone to help navigate the trail but there were plenty of trail markers along the way.

The hike itself wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. A friend referred Worlds End State Park to me and said it gets pretty steep. Don’t get me wrong, the first bit of the hike was steep and my calves were burning, but it was so worth it.
The hike was beautiful. There were some spots along the trail that looked like there would have been a stream flowing through, which would have made the hike a little more interesting and less hot. The day was sort of humid and hot especially after working up a sweat going up the mountain. There is actually a parking area at the top near the overlook, but I wanted to hike so parking at the bottom was what I wanted.
There were 3 different overlook points to view from. The first one was Warren’s Window, and it was awesome! It was just the first look of what was to expect once at the top.
The view at the top of Canyon Vista was breathtaking. I could have sat up there for hours taking it all in. I was worried because on the drive to Worlds End it was gloomy and foggy so I was a little nervous there wouldn’t be much to see.
Continuing on the trail heading back down the mountain, the third look out point was called Prospect Rock. This view was a little more tree covered but still nice.
Moving down the trail, we went by some awesome boulders and rock formations. Some of them even had small tunnels you could walk through. While I don’t recommend squeezing yourself into a small space that you don’t know anything about what’s on the other side, use your best judgement to keep yourself safe.
Once back on the bottom of the mountain, the trail crossed the street and went along the Loyalsock Creek. Since this was nearing the end of the hike we spent some time snacking and sitting with our feet in the water. It was still pretty warm and I love being in the water so I did some floating / sitting in the currents. It was fun letting the creek carry me downstream aways and it was also very refreshing.
Overall this hike was a 10/10. I will definitely be returning to Worlds End State park at some point to check out some other trails. If you’re going to plan a trip to Worlds End, make sure you map out your directions or maps in general before you get there (specifically if you’re using your phone). There wasn’t great service especially at the bottom of the mountain. If you’re going on a hot summer day, bring a swim suit to float in the creek and some snacks to munch on. I would also bring 2 bottles of water at least. I brought my 26oz Yeti bottle and I had half of it gone before we reached the top, so towards the end I started conserving my water. It would also be a good idea to wear hiking boots. There were a lot of rocks and muddy areas along the trail.

In my post about the Savage Race, I mentioned this company Wodndone that has grip tape to help prevent blisters while working out. I put some of this tape on my heels since my hiking boots are still relatively new and I still get blisters from them. I didn’t have the tape strips so I cut off pieces of the wrist wrap from the hand protectors and put them over my heels. It worked great!! The last hike I did before this one, my heels got torn up and it hurt to put any shoe on that didn’t have an open back. Even after floating in the creek, they stayed secured on my heels and I didn’t even notice if my socks got wet when I put them back on. I will be using the tape again, especially for the longer hikes I have planned.
Get outside, take a walk or a hike and enjoy nature, but remember keep it beautiful.
